The Schaumberg sectional is rediculous.
1. Hinsdale Central (1) 2. Naperville North (2) 3. Roselle Park (Lake Park) (4) 4. Wheaton North (5) 5. Downers Grove South (6) 6. Elmhurst (York) (8) 7. LaGrange (Lyons) (9) 8. Wheaton-Warrenville South (11) 9. Geneva (13) 10. Hoffman Estates (19)
It's pretty unfortunate that 5 ranked teams arent going to make it to state.
Individual wise.... i'd pick Hynes

Is the 2A Chicago (Jones) Sectional going to be held at Niles West? If so how will they run the races since there is a 3A Niles West Sectional as well?

They have a 25% shot at advancing to state assuming they make it out of Regionals. I place them and Illini West as fighting it out for the 5th spot.

Hines was 4th on the 2.83 mile course. Exciting finish, Katherine Rack ran by herself the entire race with a sizeable lead until the last two steps! Elaine Kuckertz had an awesome kick and made up a 6 sec. deficit in the end. Also, Lyons beat York. Well, no. Roey is a great runner, but I meant Lizzie Hynes from St. Charles. She ran a 17:05 at her confrence meet.

St.Francis was missing their no 2 runner Kristin Barth, she was probably about a 6 pt hit, ACC was missing their no 4 which was about an 11-12pt hit, not sure if Barth will be back or not this season?

Chicago Jones 1. Wheaton A 2. St Francis 3. Lemont 4. Chicago U 5. Illiana 6. Tim C
This assumes that everyone ran their best squads at the regional. Don't sleep on the Maroons! I tried to convert the times based on the distances submitted to the IHSA pages. This assumes similar course difficulty. When I ran the mock race, 1-2 was a 1 point split. 5-6 was about 55 so I'd call any breakup of that top 5 an upset.

Lemont and Illaina Christian ran 2.98 miles (according to the official meet results) Wheaton St Francis and Wheaton Academy ran 3.06 miles
here is how I have it based on my conversions (add 10-12 sec to Lemont and IC and subtract 17-20 sec for WSF and WA)
1. Lemont 46: solid 1,2, and 3:(18:59, 19:18, 19:35 converted times) 4, 5 (20:23, 20:34 converted times) 4 and 5 need to close the gap 2. WSF 53:45 sec split (19:31 - 20:15 converted times) - no front runner) 3. WA 54: 56sec split (19:20- 20:16 converted times)- no front runner) 4. IC 66: 41 sec split (19:44 - 20:25 converted times) - no front runner
I think this is going to be a very enjoyable race to watch. I have to give the edge to Lemont because of their # 1 and 2 runners. With that being said I think these 4 will advance and the 5th spot will be between U-High and Timothy Christian

xcrunr2:
Check the site again, the Park Forest regional was 2.92 miles, so you have to add a little more than 10-12 seconds. The easy way to do conversions is to divide by the distance of the race (to get a PPM) and multiply by 3. At 6:30 pace, .06 miles is 23 seconds, and .08 is 31.
Again, I'm assuming equivalent course difficulties.
Also, the University regional was about 3.15 miles which makes U High's race look quite a bit stronger.

I have the official meet reults from Rich East - not from the IHSA website. The official meet results say 2.98 miles.
looking at u-high I think their 5th runner in the mid 21's is going to hurt them

And it's a ridiculously fast 2.92, so it's difficult to compare to other courses.

It was 2.92. The paperwork with the final results was incorrect as it listed the girls at 2.98 and boys at 2.97. It is a flat, fast course. But remember that turns slow you down, and there were 27 turns on the course.

Ok I converted my original times based on the folowing criteria; 0.1 mile = 37 sec 0.05 mile = 14 sec 0.025 mile = 7 sec
therefore
Team Results
1. WSF 47 (5,6,8,13,15) 2. WA 47 (2,4,11,14,16) 3. Lemont 51 (1,3,7,19,21) 4. IC 68 (9,10,12,17,20) 5. U-High or Timothy Christian ( I didn't go past 30th place)
I think this is going to be a very tight race for 1st any of the top 3 could win. IC has a quality team but their pack will be a bit further back. Both U-high and TC are interesting teams (U-high seems to have the edge, with their 1st runner but then they go back and forth TC's # 2 ahead of U-high's, U-highs 3rd in front of TC, U-highs 4th in front of TC's and TC's 5th in front of U-highs)
Individual Results Red = individual qualifier (If U-high is 5th place team, Timothy Christian has other 2 qualifiers or vice versa)
1. Kester -Lem 2. Galvin -Bremen 3. Daly - WA 4. Kostes - Lem 5. Long -WA 6. Robinson - WSF 7. Buford -latin 8. Trunk -WSF 9. Walczak -Lem 10. McShea -WSF 11. Fallon - Guerin 12. Zweir - IC 13. Spahn -Hillcrest 14. Blaauw -IC 15. Kuo - U-high 16. Bain-Driscoll 17. Huff -WA 18. DeYoung _IC 19. McShea -WSF 20. Emerson -WA 21. Diamond -WSF 22. Reichman -WA 23. Haan -IC 24. Dirkse -TC 25. Schmidt - Lem 26. Behn - IC 27.Bosman -TC 28. Allen -Rich East 29. Prasuaskas - lem 30. Kimball -U-High

Getting a Chicago Public League team to Peoria is impressive enough. However, based on their times, it appears that his young Whitney Young team might have challenged Stagg and Mother McAuley for the Niles AAA sectional championship if their early season top performer had been fit. On the other hand, it was a close call for them as it also appears like they might not have made the top five if she had not been able to run at al

My usual #1 was in a good spot, but faded during the last mile. She was 12:12 at the 2 mile and was in 48th place. Had she finished where she was last year in 14th place, we would have been 58 points better. We were 55 points out of 1st. She ran an awesome workout today, and I expect her to be under 18 this weekend at peoria. She's got the moxy to do it.
