Just a note: Kaneland's girls team should be up there

AAA rankings look good, though I get the sense that teams #3-18 are really close. Stagg and Hinsdale are obviously phenomenal, but a lot of these other teams could either win a trophy or finish 20th at state (or, sadly, be watching because they were stuck in the Schaumburg sectional) depending on the day. I've seen McAuley beat Lyons twice, but Lyons easily beat them at Palatine. Ya never know what's gonna happen. It should make for a very exciting October and November.

Just curious do you think the Kaneland girls should be ranked? From what I can tell looking at the results from sterling, they are a decent team up front (19:31, 20:31) but then 21:33, 21:48, 21:52 to round up the top 5 and 22:18 and 22: 20 for 6 and 7. Not bad but a 2:21 split between 1 and 5 isn't going to cut it.

Kaneland didn't run normal #1 ,3 ,7, at Sterling. They still need #5 to improve though.

even at their own invite they didn't look too strong, most other ranked teams, at least those in the top 10, have 3 girls in the 19's with 4 and 5 in the low 20's. I think they could be there, they just haven't showed me anything yet.

I am not debating that they should be on the top ten, but if they finished just 12 points behind Sycamore (#17 on the rankings) AND were missing 3 of their normal top seven, then yeah, they should be on the top 25 rankings. At their invite - you've got me, but they still finished close to Sycamore. A down race?

Ok, I can accept that. I can see potential in a few teams and they are definitely one of those teams. I think when you go further down the list it becomes difficult to determine which teams are worthy of a top 25 ranking.

sycamore ran 3 of their top seven in the fresh/soph race at sterling so they would still be higher than kaneland.

Knoxville High School is not ranked this week in girls and people are wondering who are they with the first year of existence. Well the knoxville's girls just got done with a meet yesterday at Elmwood Brimfield and the girls finished third. So the people that are doing the rankings need to look into knoxville as being a team that can go to state this year..

Another team with three close to front of the pack runners is Illini West, another first year program. Both teams, if they stay healthy, will gain the respect they are due when the time counts.
