After reviewing the 2007 Indoor Classic qualifying standards - I noticed that the qualifying standard for the "A" & "AA" girls 55M Hurdles is identical (9.24/9.0).
Interestingly, the "List" standards are different (9.74 "A", 9.34 "AA").
In reviewing all the standards for both "A" & "AA" girls & boys - this appears to be the only event for either gender or class where the standard is the same for both "A" & "AA" athletes.
Is this a "typo" or is this standard correct?
Based on last years "A" & "AA" results for this event - it would seem that a different standard for each might be warranted.
Class "A" final qualifiers ranged from 8.82-9.35 - while "AA" final qualifiers ranged from 7.99-8.65.
The finals results ranged from 8.61-9.50 for "A" and 7.96 to 8.79 for "AA".

Did a little more digging... Last years 55M Hurdle standard for "A" was as 9.64/9.4 - with the same "List" standard as this year - 9.74. The "AA" standard was the same as this years - no change. www.illinoispreptoptimes.com/qualifying06.html

You are correct, this is a typo. Neither hurdle qualification changed from last year. I'm glad you caught it.

Rock -
Just a reminder that the 2007 Indoor Classic page still has the incorrect qualifying time listed.
I don't mean to chase you on this - but some schools are posting copies of the qualifying times from this page for their athletes on their websites and at the schools.

Looks like the 2007 Indoor Classic qualifying standard for the "Class A" girl's 55M Hurdles has been updated.
The "List" standard is now: 9.94 The "Qualifying" standard is now (FAT/HT): 9.74/9.5
Not sure why it changed vs. 2006 (Rock indicated in an earlier post that the standard should be the same as last year).
If I'm not mistaken - it looks like there might be other updates to the 2007 "Class A" girl's event standards (ie. 800) since it was initially posted.
Probably worth a 2nd look...

definately worth a second look. Let me see what I did. I'll make sure that the standards will be the same as 2006.

OK - this is the last time I mention this - I promise!
(List & Automatic FAT/HT) 9.74 9.64/9.40 2006 "Class A" girls 55H (Last Year's Standards)
9.74 9.24/9.0 2007 "Class A" girls 55H 2007 Indoor Classic qualifying standard (12/06) (initial posting)
9.94 9.74/9.5 2007 "Class A" girls 55H 2007 Indoor Classic qualifying standard (3/07) (current posting)
9.74 9.54 2007 "Class A" girls 55H Leaderboard (3/12/07) (Current "Leaderboard" standard)
So - as of today - there appears to be two (2) different standards for qualifying listed on the IPTT website for this event.
Rock indicated that the standard had not changed from 2006. So the correct standard would appear to be:
9.74 9.64/9.40 - which doesn't seem to match either of the current posted standards.
With this meet just a couple weeks away - and every 10th of a second critical - it's confusing not having a consistent standard in place.

9.74 is the time it takes to be listed on our leaderboards. 9.74 (FAT) is the time it takes to qualify for the indoor classic, which is the equivelent to 9.5 hand timed. The 9.64 is a mistake by our leaderboard editor (hey we're human). Sorry.
Hope that helps?

Rock - thanks for the reply...(and yes I lied - as I'm mentioning this again and am willing to go down this slippery slope one more time). And yes, I'm laughing while I type this...so please don't be offended. So - contrary to your earlier post - the standard did indeed change from 2006 (an extra 10th was added) and the real 2007 qualifying numbers are 9.74 FAT/9.50 HT. And the 2007 Leaderboard "list" standard is 9.74 - which is also the 2007 FAT standard - and not 9.94 as shown on the 2007 Indoor Classic web page? www.illinoispreptoptimes.com/07track/2007indoorclassic.htmlAnd yes - this is important for me to get clarified. My daughter has run a 9.33 (HT) - which if I understand correctly - would be rounded up to 9.4 prior to adding .24 seconds for the conversion from MT to FAT. So her 9.33 (HT) would become a 9.64 (FAT). So - based on the current 2007 Class A leaderboard standard of 9.54 - she's not qualified. Based on last year's (2006) standard of 9.64 - she'd be in. Based on your most recent post's standard of 9.74 - she's in. You have to admire my persistence - as I first mentioned this issue in January. We're now only 2 weeks away from this meet and it's still confusing.

In class A Girls - she ran faster than 9.74 so yes, she's in.
In class AA Girls she would need a 9.24 to qualify.
I believe she's in A, so make plans to be in Bloomington on the 30th.
