Be sure to get to Charleston this May for the "Last Great Illinois State Track Meet" . You won't see consistently high level head to head performances among the best of the best often after this year...
The extension of the feel good "everybody is a winner" mentality moves on. But the clock won't lie, the tape can't be changed - the true champion is the competitor who goes the fastest or the farthest....

Ask most of the AA XC schools and I don't think you'll get too many complaints. After about two more years there won't be that many runners that even remember 2 classes. Comparison can still be made much as they did when Bastert tore up her competition at State each year save for the great 1600 race with Ms. Brokaw. Glad to see it finally happen. The glass is half full!

Ask Cahokia (AA) and Lanphier(AA) if they want to run against East St Louis (AAA) . My guess is all three will always want to run against each other - not play the AA/AAA comparision game.
The best want to race the best.
