I was wondering what people felt about which conference is the toughest in AA seeing that this week is the conference meets. Obviously Western Sun is up there with Sycamore, Yorkville, Kaneland, etc. but what are some of the others?

Not sure if there is any tougher than the Sun. Isn't Batavia in there too? Their Boys team is pretty solid!

On the girls side the Big Northern Conference is really strong this year with Winnebago, Burlington Central, byron, Marengo, and Rockford Lutheran. Great individuals from Richmond-burton and North Boone running, too. I hope I didn't forget to list anyone...great group of runners this year.

southwest suburban blue should be a great race between shepard, oak forest, bremen, and lemont on the boys side. On the girls side lemont looks to be the favorite. They put 4 in front of oak forests 2nd in tri a couple of weeks ago

'I think the Private School league has the hardest conference' I don't know if you were joking but, the PSLs is not a very tough conference at all...Illiana and Walther are the top two teams.

WSC: AAA: Geneva, Batavia, DeKalb AA: Rochelle, Kaneland, Yorkville, Glenbard South, Sycamore Very good conference. I haven't seen many predictions lately, so here goes one: 1. Geneva -- 23 2. Sycamore -- 55 3. Batavia -- 85 4. Yorkville -- 95 5. DeKalb -- 100 6. Kaneland -- 110 7. Glenbard So -- 165 8. Rochelle -- 187

I really think it will be a great race for third place this weekend between Dekalb, Batavia, Yorkville and Kaneland. All look like strong pack teams and looking really strong as of late. This is a very very strong sports conference.

The WSC is a strong sports conference moreover a stronger cross country conference. With Derek Campbell leading Sycamore and Nelson from Geneva being injured who knows who could win this conference. To be honest, unless Campbell loses another shoe, it will be tough to beat him.

It would be great for a AA team to win, but Geneva just looks too strong for Sycamore to handle. Nelson may be injured, but Grimson has been faltering a little bit himself.

The Central State 8 down around Springfield is a pretty solid AA conference. Every school is AA and the top three teams have all been ranked in the top-20 here on IPTT. Springfield High, Sacred Heart-Griffen and Chatham Glenwood are pretty evenly matched and could make some noise at State in a month.

I don't see any reason why Campbell shouldn't win it, but like you said, if Grimson has another race like he's been having lately then Geneva's going to take it, even with Nelson running somewhere around 3rd man. Sycamore's gotta get two guys in front of their solid pack if they want to have a fighting chance, with 3 4 and 5 right up close. cause geneva has that really solid pack that seems nearly impossible to break up. If both teams run to their full potential it should be a very interesting race. And hopefully Kaneland and Yorkville will have a good battle, considering they'll be fighting it out for one of the last state qualifying positions coming out of that insanely tough sectional in two weeks.

-i think batavia will be #2 in the WSC. no way sycamore will beat them.batavia beat sycamore earlier in the season at the Edington Invite on the same course

If he (and Grimson) are now healthy, I do think they'll beat the "Bat Pack". But if one or two of Sycamore's guys are not 100%, Batavia (and maybe Yorkville) could pull the upset. But no one will get Geneva.

Campbell will succesfully defend his WSC title and Sycamore will probably have 3 in before Batavia's #1. So unless Sycamore #4 and #5 get completely buried by Geneva #6, 7 Batavia's 1 through 6 and some Yorkville and Kaneville guys Batavia will be third. Look for at least 5 Geneva all conference, 3 Sycamore, 2 Yorkville, 1 or 2 Kaneville that leaves 3 or 4 more spots for Batavia.

I think Sycamore could have 4. I think it will be Campbell, Grimson, Gilmer and Hueber. I believe Hueber made all conferece last year. With him up there, they'll have a real strong 4 and they could possibly contend with a hurt Geneva.

With him up there, they'll have a real strong 4 and they could possibly contend with a hurt Geneva. For sycamore to win, they will have to be at 100%. They are now running a full team with just minor complications. Things i have noticed about geneva and batavia though, they peak earlier in the season leaving other teams chances to beat them. This would be the best chance for sycamores victory. Also if anyone has ever seen the WSC confrence course you would realize that its the smart runner who is going to win. I wish i could be there to witness the race, it seems to me that it will be very exciting.
