Not that I know of. The host school however may be trying to recover some of their costs. They get a small stipend from the IHSA which barely covers the official and timer. All other costs are put on the school. $5.00 seems a bit excessive for Belvidere. that sounds more like a Chicago charge, but I don't know if there is a rule against it.
Pack as many as you can into each car ;D

Lockport did this last year. I think it's a bad, bad idea. We wnat to welcome fans and spectators to watch the runners run, not discourage them by hitting them with a fee. One of the best things about cross country has always been that there is no admission. And now that is being taken away. I don't like that the state charges per vehicle either. Plus it's not fair to schools that host in a forest preserve as you cannot collect any money in those areas. Just my opinion.

You get the same money for Sectionals as Regionals from the IHSA but more hassle at a Sectional. There is no way the officals and timer cost that much money. Plus the host school gets concession money. Hosting a sectional can be a huge money maker for a school, but you have to have the support staff to do it.

But if you are holding it in a park or forest preserve that makes it a bit more challenging. And I believe the amount is $300.00 a host school gets from the IHSA.

But if you are in a forest preserve your options of earning money are limited. You can't sell anything or charge admission in the preserves. And it's a pain to host a sectional. You have spectators everywhere, people complaining about your course, moving everyone back to the school for awards, finding enough workers with the right knowledge, etc. They really should up the price. Then they would have more people willing and able to host.
