83 - Springfield, 82 - Normal West. West's Kerschieter took 2nd overall 16:01 behind Chatam's Anderson who was 15:06 last year at state. Very hilly, demanding course. Teamate Kaufman 5th overall & closing the gap this week. 3rd, 4th & 5th West runners packed within seconds of each other. Very tight. Impressive. Homes from Limestone took first with 15:23. He didn't leave the pack until the 2 mile mark.

Was Holmes competing as an individual or with his team?

At Lanphier, Kerscheiter was second behind Holmes - Anderson was third. (Anderson and Kerscheiter were close - Kerscheiter won the sprint to the finish)
Kerscheiter did not compete at PND or the Bloomington-Normal InterCity meet due to illness. (flu)
