I think it is the greatest individual performance in Illinois HS Cross Country History. 13:52 on the extended course is just blistering! What could this guy do if he was even remotely challenged? I say he clips the Nat'l 3200 record this Spring and maybe even the 2 mile. WOW!!!! This has been a long awaited moment in cross.

When you look at all the great runners in the past, very few were challenged at the state. This was a great performance, and I would put it in my top five, but I don't think I would make it the greatest of all time.

Well if you convert his time (since the course has been lengthened in the past few years) it is below Virgin's 13:50. If it isn't the "greatest" it is certainly the fastest all time.
Also, Walters and Graves were both pushed when they went under 14. They had guys within 4 or 5 seconds.

Derrick wasnt even challenged, Havel put up somewhat of a fight at the beginning, but derrick had him broken by the 2 mile mark easily. Props to Achtein and Havel for running great races which will unfortunatly be overshadowed by possibly the greatest performance of all time.
