Lake Zurich's Boys 4x100 and 4x200 made the finals at the state meet last year and had 3 members of those teams who were underclassmen if I remember correctly. I haven't seen any results posted from their sprint relays indoors or outdoors. Are their sprinters from last year running this spring or are they injured, focusing on football?

I am not exactly sure but I heard two of them decided they have used track long enough for football and decided to not go out because football is over. Poor coaches if that is the case. Work with kids for three years and they end up screwing you in the end.

If this is the case I really feel the coaches also. One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the lack of respect both athletes and coaches from other sports have for the sport of track and field. Football is a speed game first and foremost. But athletes don't come out for track because they listen to the football coaches who tell them to lift weights for football. Track and Field gives you the explosion, quickness and speed that football players need to take them from being good to very good, and in some cases, great players. You can say the same thing about basketball athletes and their coaches. Some football and basketball coaches are selfish, and feed the kids nonsense about the kids future in their particular sport. I'm speaking in general about selfish coaches, not at Lake Zurich because I don't know the situation that lead to the kid's decision not to run this year.
