I just wanted to know from experienced runners.I'm new to cross country i played football in middle school and i'm a freshman now.Regionals is next week and we have a invite in peoria on sat.We ran in Amboy on Monday.Practice on Tuesday we had a 6 mile run and core excercises.Today she had us swimming?! tomorrow is 7 1200 repeats and 4 mile run on friday.Is this normal with other programs.I feel i am not training hard enough.

It's probably time for you to start tapering now. so the workouts shouldnt be too difficult. and if you've been working out all summer and fall, you should be strong enough.

7 x 1200 seems like a lot but the rest of the week sounds pretty typical. If sounds like you're training plenty hard. Just make sure that you run your easy days EASY. If your coach does have you start tapering in the next few weeks you're going to feel pretty good on all your workouts and you'll be tempted to pound. DON'T! Nothing you do in the last four weeks of the season is going to make you any faster, especially if you wear yourself out in practice.
If you ran your 7x1200 in 4:20 each then in a week or two when she has you run 4x1200 run 'em in 4:20 and think of how easy they feel. Then go out and pound on the race course.
No one cares who wins at practice.
