Please give your predictions for the top 10 teams and individuals for next year's state CC meet. Here are my picks. It should be a battle next year. I think Bago edges Elmwood and Thompson takes out Feldhake in an awesome race.
Top 10 Teams 1. Winnebago 2. Elmwood 3. PBL 4. Knoxville 5. Ottawa Marquette 6. Oregon 7. Monticello 8. Beecher 9. Uni High 10. GRF
Top 10 Individuals 1. Parker Thompson 2. Matt Feldhake 3. Logan Block 4. Dustin Emerick 5. Brian Peterson 6. Kody Nelson 7. Drew Johnson 8. Alex Montoya 9. Trace Carlson 10. Trenton Tedrick

Definitely not giving Block and Peterson enough credit. Nobody is a clear winner though. Definitely a fight between 5 or so guys. The team race is a toss-up, too. Elmwood and Bago are definitely ahead of everybody else, but there could be surprises other places in the lineup. It's always a surprise, no matter how much we speculate. It's still fun though.

i really don't know about teams, but i do think it will be very close between elmwood and bago as for teams here is a list of the top 26 returning:
1. Matt Feldhake 2. Logan Block (Knoxvile) 3. Dustin Emerick (Elmwood) 4. Kody Nelson 5. Trace Carlson 6. Parker Thompson (Tremont) 7. Matt Paarlberg 8. Graham Morris 9. Brian Peterson 10. Justin Montgomery 11. Colin Mickow 12. John Curran 13. Jordan Patterson 14. Kyle Shimer 15. Drew Johnson (Bago) 16. Trenton Tedrick (Bago) 17. Nick Baldo 18. Jake Kemp (Knoxville) 19. Alejandro Montoya (Elmwood) 20. Justin Jones 21. Chris Krider 22. John Boyle (Tremont) 23. Sean Cox 24. Mike Miroux 25. Nick Newcomer (Bago) 26. Doug Vrchota (Elmwood)
my guess, however for the top ten are:
1. Parker Thompson 2. Logan Block 3.Matt Feldhake 4. Brian Peterson 5. Dustin Emerick 6. Kody Nelson 7. Drew Johnson 8. Trenton Tedrick 9. Alexander Montoya 10. Trace Carlson
just guessing as of now though

I think that elmwood will be able to put 3 in front of bago's three and i believe that elmwood have a stronger 4-5 then bago, its all gonna come down to who can put a runner in front of each other.

I was going to say, there is not really a chance that elmwood could have 3 in front of 1 bago runner. I mean its possible, but they all would have to run pretty good.

1. Logan Block (ran really good this spring at state track finsihing in 9:24 in the 3200 and won it.) 2. Dustin Emerick (Don't think he ran the way he would have liked but still put forth a good effort and ran good, definantly something to watch out for.) 3. Parker Thompson(Awesome 800 and 1600 races finishing 2nd in the 800 and won the 1600. I didn't put him first becaue i don't know if he is more of a speed type of person. we will let the fall decide) 4. Brian Peterson(Ran pretty good at state finishing in great ranks. I don't know a lot about Brian but im sure he will have something to show.) 5. Matt Feldhake (I know that matt probably didn't perform the the best of his ability at state track but im not sure how much better he could have done just because of the good races everybody else had. We will see what matt holds for us this fall also.) 6. Kody Nelson (I know absolutly nothing about, i saw him on the other 2 predictions thought i should add him in here somewhere. I think he did pretty good at state.) "any info add on" 7. Trenton Tedrick (pretty upsetting at state track finishing 11th. still in the motion of getting back but injury free for over a year now. Im thinking he can at least get back to or a little better than he was his sophomore year.) 8. Drew Johnson (stud freshman looking to take the spot that trenton got as a sophomore. Pretty sure he can do it, ive raced against this kid and i know hes tough) 9. Trace Carlson (had some back problems this track season but hopefully hes getting some good base miles so that he will be back strong this fall. I know trace can do it, he did it last year it just depends on how much he wants it back.) 10. Alex Montoya (again someone that i don't know a lot about but the name is familiar, i know that he will be up there for sure to compete with winnebago and other schools. If he returns good hes looking to be an elite runner.)
I kinda just threw this together in like 10 seconds from the 2 predictions that have already been posted, i looked at them and kinda moved some stuff around just to throw some things out there.
p.s. these are just random things put together, any information you might have on some of the runners that i didn't know much about go ahead and add to it if you care to. I don't need any argument over any of these, its more or less just some information that i put to the right of the name, the number to the left can mean almost nothing to me right now.

I see Kasey Ferrigan(sp?), from Sterling Newman is running again from the Reagan run 5k results. He should be considered for all-state after being injured most of last year.
TC did you talk to him at the race?

He would be all-state in A but he transfered to Dixon, because of our up and coming program, he is more of a track runner 2 flat in the half as a soophomore which is spectacular, and 52.3 in the quarter, but he can still run a pretty sick 5k and he should respond well to the training we are doing

Couple Monticello runners ran good 15k times at eiu panther prowl during their week at camp.
24 56:44 Alan Hollingsworth 27 58:16 Brent Rhodes
They both beat Graham Morris of Lawrenceville who was 18th at state last year. Morris ran 58:36
Didnt see Josh Clark in results. Not sure if he ran.
Jack Foley ran 19:55 in 5k.
Tom Pacey of PBL ran 17:28 to finish fourth in 5k

Yeah I talked to him. He seems pumped about the season. Him and the rest of the Dixon boys are running crazy miles. It showed too. Kasey is definitely a good fit at Dixon. He transfered mid year.

you really need to get your sources right on the top individuals. first of all, the name thin you did was ridiculous and another thing...it will be tough for mickow to do that well in 1a becuase princeton is going to be 2a

I didn't know that Princeton was going to be 2A. Were they right on the bubble. Also Kcor got one of those ridiculous names right. Kids on my team do call me T-RACE.

So 1/25th of my list was wrong. Never said it was perfect. The name thing was just for fun, add a little excitement to these dull boards.

i heard johnson had a stress fracture. i think elmwood is the team to beat still and they aren't getting enough credit, just like last year.

Elmwood and Winnebago are both tough, but Elmwood won it fair and square from them and they aren't getting any respect from it. I see Elmwood beating Winnebago. Winnebago has Johnson, but Elmwood also has the 2nd and 3rd returning freshmen at something like 16:03 and 16:12 ish and some stud 8th grader. Their definately a force to be reckoned with.

Is Johnson's stress fracture a "short-term injury" (like 3-4 weeks) or a "long-term injury" that could end his season?
Without him Bago wouldn't be able to compete with Elmwood.

I dont understand how you think elmwood is not getting enough credit. Anyone that knows anything about cross-country knows they are the team to beat. What more is there to say about them?
