newpackman is right about PBL for several reasons. Cardosa is getting healthier by the day, Brehm was fighting a cold all week and didn't run his best, Pacey continues to improve each race, Carlson improved almost 1 minute from the regional meet and will continue to drop time with full concentration to XC (BTW, he was their #1 man in junior high in 8th grade) while Kyrouac continues to gain confidence. K is a gamer and you can bet he'll be there when it's for all the money next Saturday. All 5 of these guys ran in the state finals last year, so they won't be going in wide eyed and scared. My sources tell me they've trained all year for the state finals meet. Needless to say, the race is going to be one heck of a dogfight. Isn't that the way the state finals are supposed to be? It's going to be a tremendous race. This team is hungry!!

As it looks right now going into finals the PBL sectional teams might be able to get 3-4 into the top 10 at state, maybe more. I'll have to look at the other sectionals a little deeper. I don't think anyone's going to touch Bago, Elmwood, and I still say Robinson for 3rd just from seeing the race before and being healthy. I don't think Sherrard will be in the top 5 (responding to someone's post from another thread), PBL if they run like they did on Saturday may have an outside shot at top 5, depends alot on Kyrouac. 60th place at the sectional usually equates to over 100th at state and that will hurt, but with the 3 class system, I may be wrong. Carlson really impressed me, I had to do a double take about half way through. Cardosa is just crazy, when it's time to roll, he always shows up. Good luck this week, here's to another week for you like last weekend.

I am having a little trouble finishing all the crow I am eating after my picks last week. PBL finally ran like everyone thought they were capable. I feel bad for the T-town boys. I really thought they would be top 10 this coming weekend. I looked back at my preseason picks, and I had PBL in the top 3, although I don't think they can go top three still, you never know! Congrats again to the PBL boys along with all the others who advanced.

Vol I totally did the same thing at sectionals with Carlson. He really showed up. After looking alittle bit closer at results for the other sectionals PBL won't pull a top three finish, but five is totally not out of the question.
